My husband & I purchased this for our 6 week old little girl. She didn't seem to like sleeping flat on her back so we each spent many hours sleeping with her in our glider. We saw this product in a magazine and thought we would try it. We have had it almost a week and she sleeps really well. She has been sleeping in 4-6 hour blocks at night. It does still take her a little while to get to sleep but once she does she is out for a while.
I wouldn't recommend it for a newborn because I don't think it offers enough head and neck support, but once they are a little older and stronger I think its great.
The off gassing odor was pretty strong when we got it. We set it out uncovered in the sun for the day and it reduced the odor tremendously.
My biggest complaint is that it doesn't have a waterproof liner to protect the mattress from spit up and diaper leakage.

My six week old daughter was extremely uncomfortable due to gas. I read the reviews for the Nap Nanny and was extremely skeptical, but thought that I would give it a try and if it didn't work, resell it on ebay. I can now honestly say that this is a wonderful product, and wish that I had known about it for my three year old when he was born, as he suffered from severe reflux. Since we got this a week ago, my daughter has slept through the night every night! I finally feel human again, and my little girl is so much more comfortable, as she is now also getting a full night's sleep and lengthy naps during the day. The Nap Nanny is worth every penny in my opinion.

My 4-month-old has reflux, which is why I purchased this. However, she sleeps on her side and the Nap Nanny does not allow for her to do this. If we had owned one from birth we might have been able to get her to sleep in it, but I'm not sure she would have been comfortable in it anyway because it's so steep. It is useful for keeping baby propped up after feedings, but there are several other, less expensive ways of doing this. I will be selling mine on ebay.

I recommend this product highly.
Our newborn daughter has completely elimnated her problems with reflux and sleep since we started using the Nap Nanny.
I give the Nap Nanny high marks in all areas: appearance, comfort, easy to move around the house, sturdy, easy to clean. Any family with a newborn - particularly a newborn suffering from acid reflux - should use this product.
I have also read some objections to the use of polyeurathane (sp) in this product - almost all furniture, bedding, etc. has some type of polyeurathane (sp) padding or foam. Those concerns seem totally unfounded to me.
Sincerely,

I've read all these great reviews but was skeptical because I just knew my baby would be the exception. I have a 11 week old preemie (2 weeks adjusted) who've been suffering from bad reflux. I've been putting her on her tummy to sleep since she sleeps so much better that way but I've been scared of SIDS and would prefer her to be on her back. Well, the Nap Nanny allows her to be on her back and to sleep. She's not sleeping through the night yet but she is very comfortable in it, puts herself to sleep when she's in it, and stays asleep for several hours at a time. Best of all, it's portable, so I can take it on the road next week when we visit my parents and in-laws for Christmas. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it for peace of mind and for combating the reflux.
